Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan auditioned for the X Factor as solo artist's. They all got through the audition rounds and into bootcamp, unfortuantly the judges decided they couldn't take them on any further as solo acts. Luckily, they thought they should have a second chance and were put together as a group, 'one direction'. One Direction then went on to become the hottest boy band around, but only came third in the X Factor.
